    Bolts

    Subcategories

    • Carriage Bolts

       - Carriage Bolts have a round head with a square neck underneath that sinks into the wood as it's tightened in order to prevent spinning.

    • Dowel Screws

       - Dowel Screws are threaded on both ends to connect tow pieces of wood together.

    • Elevator Bolts

       - Elevator bolts are similar to carriage bolts, but have a flat head. They are normally used as leveling feet in scales or appliances.

    • Hanger Bolts

       - Like Dowel Screws, Hanger Bolts are threaded on both sides, but instead have a wood screw on one side and a machine screw on the other. They are commonly used in furniture.

    • Heavy Hex Bolts

       - Heavy hex bolts are generally specified for high temperature or high pressure applications, particularly where bolt heads will bear against flanges.

    • Hex Bolts

       - Hex Bolts are the same as Hex Cap Screws, except they are usually less expensive and more for general purpose applications where Cap Screws aren't specifically specified.

    • Hex Cap Screws

       - Hex Cap Screws are actually bolts with strict size tolerances.1/4" diameter or larger that are used with nuts and washers.

    • Hex Machine Bolts

       - The difference between a Machine Bolt and Machine Screw is the head. A machine bolt has a hexagonal head made for a wrench. All Machine Bolts less than 1–1/2” in length are fully threaded.

    • Lag Screws, Hex Head

       - Hex Lag Screws are commonly seen on telephone poles or other applications where hardware is attached to a wood structure.

    • Step Bolts

       - Step Bolts are similar to carriage bolts but with a lower and wider head for use in fastening down steps or other decking applications.

    • Cap Nuts

       - Cap Nuts are used to cover exposed, dangerous bolt threads or to add a finished appearance

    • Heavy Hex Nuts

       - Heavy hex nuts are generally specified for high temperature or high pressure applications

    • Hex Castle Nuts

       - Hex Castle Nuts have slots for the insertion of a cotter pin to secure the nut when used with a drilled shank fastener. Commonly used in the automotive industry to secure front wheel bearings / wheel hubs to spindles on cars and trucks.

    • Hex Coupling Nut

       - Hex Coupling Nuts are available in various widths and lengths. They are used to connect pieces of threaded rod or other male threaded fasteners

    • Hex Flange Lock Nut

       - Hex Flange Lock Nuts have a built-in washer with a serrated bottom to resist vibration.

    • Hex Jam Nuts

       - Hex Jam Nuts are thinner than regular hex nuts. They were originally used in combination with another nut to provide a sort of locking mechanism.

    • Hex Nuts

       - Hex Nuts are common six-sided nuts used for most general purpose applications.

    • Hex Panel Nuts

       - Hex Panel Nuts are thin nuts usually used to mount switches to panels.

    • Keps Nuts

       - Keps Nuts are nuts with a built-in external lock washer for better hold against vibration

    • Wing Nuts

       - Wing Nuts are normally used when a fastener needs to be tightened and loosened frequently.

    Washers

    Subcategories

    • Fender Washers

       - Fender Washers have a smaller inner diameter than Flat Washers to provide a greater bearing surface under the fastener. This helps prevent a nut, bolt or screw from pulling through the material. They also usually have a thinner guage.

    • Flat Washers

       - Flat Washers are circular cuts of steel with a hole cut out of the center in order to provide a larger bearing surface for scres and bolts.

    • Lock Washers, External Tooth

       - External Tooth Lockwashers have teeth around the outside of the washer to provide greater tortion resistance.

    • Lock Washers, Internal Tooth

       - Internal Tooth Lockwashers have teeth on the inside of the washer and are generally used with smaller fasterners to provide more grip by biting into the fastener and the work surface area.

    • Lock Washers, Split

       - Split Lockwashers are made from a metal coil that provides tention on the bolt even if it is slightly loose. When tightened completely, the washer is flat.

    • Square Nuts

       - Square nuts have been replaced by hex nuts for the most part, but they are still available for general purpose applications.
